Women are often told to listen to their body. When you’re tired or ill, we typically do pay attention, gaining insight into our health. Did you know that your period blood can inform you to your inner workings? Here are 7 things your period blood says about you based on its color.
Red becomes pink when the red blood is mixed with a lighter fluid. If you have so much white or clear vaginal discharge that your entire period looks pink, something’s wrong. It may suggest you have an STD causing significant discharge. Alternatively, it may be due to low estrogen levels that prevent your body from having a normal period. This is more likely if you’re playing sports so much that your estrogen levels have dropped. If you slow down and your next period is normal, then you know that’s the reason. If your period remains this light, you may have a hormone imbalance that needs to be addressed. It could affect your fertility and your overall health, since low estrogen levels are associated with a greater risk of osteoporosis later in life.
6.Watery and/or Near White
There are two situations that fall into this category. One is light pink blood that’s so light it is almost clear. The other is that it is so watery that there is almost no color at all. This could occur because of significant vaginal discharge. This should be checked out by a doctor. It is rarely due to gynecological cancers, but you don’t want to ignore one of the few early warning signs. Another possibility is that you are suffering from a nutrient deficiency like anemia.
